In the daylight, I was struck by the tree symmetry of this Juniper tree. Located just inside our camp in the Canyonlands. A long exposure and some light painting emphasized that.
An abandoned mine shack in central Utah provided an excellent canvas to paint in the door and windows.
I thought the natural grays of the wood were emphasized by the blue light from my head lamp.

"Light painting Photo Gallery"

Light painting is so much fun to me. I've always drawn and do a bit of illustration and the ability to paint or draw in the parts of a photo that I want really seems intuitive. I value the time that allows not having to be on the shutter to catch a fleeting moment. One experiment leads to another and hours have passed. It is so inventive.
